When many other types of revenue are failing, one source continues to grow throughout the world, travel. In order to further the desire of others to visit this grand land, the U.S. government is offering what is believed to be a solution to our falling numbers in the tourist industry by proposing the new “Travel Promotion Act”. Under this act, visitors from “visa waiver” countries will be required to pay a fee to make up for the lost revenue from not having to purchase a visa. It is believed that this alone would raise almost $100 million in revenue. It would then be required that the travel industry itself contribute another $200 million to promote tourism from outside of the United States.
