Tourism has changed in many ways in the last 20 years. How often people travel, when and where they travel to, how they get around and what type of travel are all much different today than in the past. Take a closer look at some of the biggest changes in travel with Bill Bailey as we explore travel in the 21 century.
A Map Is Not Just A Map
One of the biggest changes in travel for many is how they get around in general. We used to have glove compartments filled with maps and booklets helping us to find our way around. Today, with the advent of the smart phone, ipads and other devices, maps are quickly going by the wayside and are being replaced with on demand, hand held, gps devices that can not only pinpoint exactly where you are, but give you the number of miles and route to take to get there faster. Though not everyone today uses this type of technology and there are still times when a good old fashioned map is still helpful, the way we navigate on our vacation is changing and leading travelers into a whole new world of travel.
The Whys Of Travel
Another big change in the travel world is why people choose to travel. Today, this changing face of travel has brought about tourism sects to cater to these new needs. Tourism such as ecotourism, historical tourism, adventure tourism and most recently space tourism have changed much about the world of travel. Destinations find ways to fit into niche markets further enhancing travel to their area and making them known for one type of travel more than another. Today, it is quite simple to simple look up an interest and find the locations that can offer you the specific type of vacation you are interested in.
The Newest Travel Developments
Perhaps the biggest change in travel has recently been announced. Until now, vacations have been limited only by the size of the earth, today, even this limit is being removed. With the announcement that space tourism is coming soon for the truly adventurous, a type of travel only thought of in the wildest imaginations of the past is coming to fruition. If you would’ve said to your grandparents that your next vacation is going to be to outer space, they would have just shook their heads at you, but today it is becoming a reality for those who have some money to spend.
No matter how you navigate and what type of vacation you enjoy, travel is a great way to relax and take advantage of some well earned time off. Bill Bailey would like to encourage you to spend some time experience all types of travel and destinations world wide. Find out what makes this world so amazing and take some time to enjoy life on a vacation.
