Bill Bailey Travel Reviews 5 Tips For Traveling On A BudgetAny place you travel can be on a budget as long as you know how to plan. From when to where and even how you travel, a well planned vacation can cost far less than you may think. Learn to better plan your vacation to meet your budgetary restriction with a review of 5 great tips from Bill Bailey Travel.

Get out of the hotel – For many of us, vacation means hotel however, it doesn’t have to mean this, nor does it have to mean hostel. From B&B’s to camping to condos, there are plenty of affordable options when you travel. For many, the most affordable option will be camping which can be a great way to spend some quality time with the ones you love however, it may not be your cup of tea. If you can’t stand the thought of the wilderness, consider other options or be smart when you book your hotel by staying outside of the most popular areas or even booking during the weekends at business hotels to save.

Don’t go when everyone else is – Traveling during peak seasons will definitely cost you. As a general rule, staying in shoulder seasons and off seasons will not only save you on travel but on accommodations and often food as well.

Not every attraction you visit has to cost a fortune – While theme parks are notoriously pricy, leading many inexperienced travelers to believe the cost equals quality, this is not always the case. Take for example the Smithsonian in Washington DC. Not only does it rank as some of the best attractions in the country but they are almost all FREE! Other amazing things to see and do that generally don’t cost include festivals or cultural events, public walking tours and parks. If you are planning on visiting lots of pay attractions, check out the local city passes as a viable option for money saving.

Make lunch your big meal – Dinner is notoriously pricy no matter where you travel. Maximize you food budget by snacking during the day to curb hunger and planning your big meal at lunch. The same meal will likely cost twice the amount after 5 in traditional restaurants.

Don’t overspend – The best way to travel on a budget is to make a budget that is realistic and then stick to it. Don’t think that you won’t want to at least buy something. Plan some mad money and ensure a successful budget.
