Founded in the year 1854 when speculators from the neighboring area of Council Bluffs arrived. Nicknamed the Gateway to the West, it hosted the World’s Fair in 1898. Once an important transportation hub in the early 20th century, Omaha is today home to a number of Fortune 500 companies and is known as a city which is not just fun and diverse but also quite affordable making tourism a popular and important source of income today as well.
